  10.        This release note describes patch SG0000006 to Impressario
  11.        Server 1.2.

  16.        This patch to Impressario 1.2 supports all configurations
  17.        supported by Impressario 1.2.

  22.        This patch contains fixes for the following problems which
  23.        exist in Impressario 1.2 (bug numbers from Silicon Graphics
  24.        bug tracking system are included for reference):

  26.           +o laserwriter driver crashes if given the -S option.
  27.             Print jobs submitted to Laserwriter printers with saved
  28.             printer options will not print (bug 210586).

  30.           +o The Scanner Manager (/_u_s_r/_s_b_i_n/_s_c_a_n_n_e_r_s) can be
  31.             subverted to allow root access to the system by any
  32.             user.
  33.  
  34.           +o scagent1.2 and scagent1.1 leak file descriptors.  After
  35.             188 scans with an Impressario 1.1 driver or over the
  36.             network gscan must be restarted (bug 208061).

  38.           +o il2stiff only converts the first image in a multi-image
  39.             TIFF file.  Only the first page of a FAX dropped on a
  40.             printer icon prints.

  46.        Patches are not installed by default since it is unknown
  47.        which patches address the problems you have encountered.
  48.        After reading the release notes describing the bugs fixed,
  49.        determine the set of patches which meet your specific needs.
  50.        Patches are installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  51.        product.  Use your Owner's Guide and/or Software
  52.        Installation Guide to bring up the "miniroot" form of the
  53.        software installation tools.  To select a patch for
  54.        installation type:

  75.        installation sequence.

  85.        incompatible.  If this occurs, you must unselect one of the
  86.        patches.

  90.        Ultimately you may decide after installing a patch that you
  91.        no longer want it.  To remove a patch use "versions remove"
  92.        as you would any other software subsystem.  The removal
  93.        process will reinstate the original version of software
  94.        unless you have purposefully removed the patch history from
  95.        your system.
